Turnus I – 14.07 – Dzień 12 (2022) (Polish, English and Hebrew languages)

Summary: Second evening and third day
Is today only the 14 th day of the month? Jonathan said in surprise when we looked at the computer screen for the first time while writing the summary.
Even though it is only the third day it feels as if we’ve been here in the forest for a week. Every morning the feeling of our belonging to the camp grows, we know where the dining room is and how to get around in the area. Last night we once again sat around the bon-fire and listened to the songs that are becoming more familiar and so the second evening drew to an end and we fell into a deep and special sleep (Jonathan slept like a brick). Wake-up is through music which can be heard throughout the camp-site. Our brave Arad and Jonathan decided not to attend the regular morning exercise group and instead went for a morning dip in the ice-cold lake. The Poles take the morning exercise seriously and the life-guard made sure that they were wet from top to toe. At the morning roll-call Arad proudly represented the Israeli group and as he was chosen to raise the camp-flag (he has already learnt quite a lot of Polish). At breakfast we were surprised to find familiar cornflakes but foreign milk. Heated milk is far from being complete.
Today was a special day. We received guidance by the fire-department in case of an emergency and even discovered that one of the fire-fighters had visited in Israel. Even though he had visited, he knew no Hebrew so we were happy to have Victor who is one of the youth participants with us who translated for us.
Time for some watermelon, Jonathan and Arad (the stars of the day cut-up a watermelon that was specially chosen by them in the supermarket and together with the Poles we really enjoyed it. Time for kayaking, we once again went sailing on the lake enjoying the freedom and playing around just as only Israelis know how.

Rice time, lunch was really tasty! Even though we Israelis are problematic when it comes to food, Renya, Agnieska and Eva are making many changes so that it will be tasty and good for us, THANKS!
We then put the final touches for the Israeli Day that takes place tomorrow (such excitement!).We then took part in the afternoon activity – stations, each one focusing on something connected to Janusz Korczak. It was very interesting and nice that the camp-participants were responsible for the stations. Here once again we were accompanied by an excellent translator, thank you Magdelena. A few minutes ago we had dinner that was really special – tasty scrambled eggs, once again thanks to the kitchen staff!
The end of todays summary, Yuli and Jonathan 14.7.22
